Enfinity NV, an international renewable energy project developer has been granted a significant 50 million Euro capital increase by investment firm Waterland to support its further international growth. This investment will allow Enfinity to accelerate its growth in the 12 countries (in Europe, the US and Asia) in which it is already present, and also to develop its position in new countries. In addition, the American market is rapidly becoming a major focus with president Obama as a key proponent of renewable energy.
Since it was founded in 2005, Enfinity has achieved strong growth. The turnover jumped from 200.000 EUR in 2006 to 83 million EUR in 2008. Employment showed a similar growth pattern towards 110 employees today. In 2009, Enfinity expects to reach a turnover beyond 250 million EUR with 90% of the growth coming from foreign markets. Enfinity intends to generate the revenue mainly through the development of solar power projects on company and residential roofs and on the ground with national and international customers. Additionally, wind energy is becoming Enfinity's second strategic renewable energy pillar. For Waterland, the investment in Enfinity is the first in the area of sustainability.
