Waterland provides expansion capital for growth (autonomous and through acquisitions) to medium sized private companies (from € 10 million revenues) in fragmented growth markets. After an initial investment in a 'platform' company, Waterland will actively support the execution of the defined growth and acquisition strategy as agreed with management. Add-on acquisitions are subsequently integrated with the platform company to expand the investment cluster. Autonomous growth and growth through acquisitions will eventually result in value enhancement of Waterland's portfolio companies.

As a result of the envisaged expansion of scale, operational and strategic synergetic advantages emerge which improve profitability. In addition, the relative company valuation - expressed in price / earnings ratio - improves. Various studies illustrate there is a clear correlation between size and value. As companies grow, the relative value increases.
